A Policy of Social Control Over the Juvenile Delinquency in the USSR (1917 - late 1980-s)

Abstract

A detailed look at the history of development of juvenile crime control in USSR since 1917 to the last of 1980-s is provided in the article. Using method of discourse-analyze the author reconstruct the stages of ideology transformation, state policy regarding juvenile delinquents, design of special close institutions for young offenders, practices of dealing with young inmates, based on the huge materials of official documents and scientific works of pedology,educational and psychology associations. The article also passes in review theoretical approaches to crime control in modern criminology and sociology of crime and deviance.
