The First International Comparison of Social Work Training. Alice Salomons Almost Forgotten Study from 1937

Abstract

The article is devoted to one of the research by the founder of the Germansocial work Alice Salomon. It is shown that international comparison of the development of educational programs in social work, which was conducted in the late 1930s, is still up to date not only regarding the research methodology but also in relation to theoretical conclusions concerning social policy. The study conducted in the exile from the Nazi Germany gives a clue in the debate on the present and future processes of globalization in social policy and education for social workers.
