Abstract

The article is about the peculiarities of the development and functioning of paternalism as a special practice of management, which s based on a system of mutual expectations and actions on both managers and workers side. Paternalism is closely related with various non-monetary guaranties and specific social policies that are implemented within the enterprise. An issue of relation between paternalism and the practice of industrial philanthropy is considered n framework of certain type of power relations exercised in the context of Soviet industrial enterprises.
