«Den’», «Nedelya», «Mesyachnik»: the social Campaigns as the Method of Solving Social Problems in Middle Volga Region during the 1920th

Abstract

In the paper the process of organization of social campaigns carried out during the 1920th in USSR is considered. The social campaigns called «Den’», «Nedelya», «Mesyachnik» have been the form of cooperation between society and state. The local and state authorities were organizers and coordinators of different measures and actions. All of the social problems of Soviet Russia in 1920th (homeless children, illiteracy, unemployment, aid to invalids, orphans, widows, indigents) were tackled in these campaigns. Methods of realization of these campaigns were donations, charitable concerts and lotteries, voluntarily deductions pert of wages. The article is based on local archives.
