The Migration and Migration Policy in the Northern Caucasus

Abstract

The article is about the main trends of migration processes in Northern Caucasus and directions of social policy towards the migrants. The author analyses factors of migration after the breakdown of USSR, taking into account main tendencies as well as regional differentiation of current migration picture. A special attention is devoted to an issue of forced migration in Northern Caucasus. The conceptual bases of migration policy are formulated.
