Abstract

The article analyses the main features of gender arrangements, which were formed by the state policy concerning women's engagement into public production and political life, the state regulation of family, forming and changing official discourses, interpreting femininity and masculinity. The authors demonstrate how the Soviet state established gender arrangements, how and why principles of gender politics have changed through the difference stages of socialist building, and how this politics was interiorized by the various groups of population.
