Trends in Social Work Education: Studying European Experience

Abstract

The author refers to European experience in area of university social work education as a base to develop good forms of education in Russian universities. The values are argued as a core element of professional training. Practice-oriented curricula and creative subjects are shown as a means to develop students initiative and responsibility. The article analyses a Dutch experience of social work training in Nijmegen where the author was on study trip under the international Network Project TEMPUS/TACIS 22129-2001.
