Ilse Arlt: Enjoying Life on the Base of a Scientific Theory of Needs

Abstract

The article is devoted to one of the research by the founder of the German social work of the early XX century Ilse von Arlt concerning the theory of needs as a basis for social work intervention with the vulnerable social groups. Conceptualization of needs by von Arlt has influenced the development of European approaches towards the capacities of practical solutions of social problems by means of social work.
