Abstract

The article examines the role of market incentives and soviet industrial tradition in the decision making of industrial management designing social benefit system of the company. On the basis of quality methods the author analysed the cases of 51 companies (of which 42 are industrial enterprises) during 2002–2006. The author shows that conservation and maintenance of social benefit system similar but not identical to its Soviet analogue is dictated by a market competition and specific characteristics of contemporary industrial labor market in Russia.
