Abstract

This article monitors and analyses some of the most important indicatorsof material and social well-being of the residents of Moscow. The multidimensionalapproach applied in this article enables us to make a comprehensiveassessment of the main changes in the quality of life of the population.the analysis is based on the 2012-2014 waves of the annual longitudinalsurvey "Moscow and Muscovites" which allows examining bothobjective and subjective indicators of the quality of life in the Russian metropolis.The indicators covered by the study include: the level of incomesecurity, poverty rates by income, relative deprivation and subjective assessmentby the respondents, as well as the respondents’ self-assessment of theirwealth and relative position in a society. a special attention is paid to the socialissues that are perceived as important by the respondents, in orderto obtain a more comprehensive picture of social well-being of residentsof Moscow over the past three years.
